REF: #1525

Club-winged Manakin (Machaeropterus deliciosus) is the only bird in the world that produces sound through stridulation – rubbing body parts together, just like crickets do! When courting a female, he doesn´t sing, but instead vibrates special wing feathers at an incredible 107 times per second. By rubbing these feathers together, he creates a clear tone reminiscent of a violin.
